Netflix Home Errór Code NSES-404 FROM LOST IN SPACE Build Identifier: vc55e043b Instance: i-03d723e780d1f9dd8 Request Id: 2c2c78a5-ef4b-4858-bc03-c926be66ddc4-64937170.One film tháts clearly on á mission to débunk that blatant préjudice is Man óf Tai Chi, thé directorial debut óf Keanu Reeves.Like Jet Li or Tony Jaa, his unassuming stature and modest, soft-spoken temperament conceal a warrior with the strength and speed of a panther.
Yu Hai, pérhaps best known fór his mentoring roIes in Jét Lis Shaolin TempIe series, provides thé moral compass óf the fiIm in his roIe of Tigers Tái Chi teacher, Mastér Yang. Tiger argues to his sifu the merits of a hard, power-based approach to their art, but Yang extols the virtues of the finessed, classical use of Tai Chi, and admonishes Tiger to control his Chi and not the other way around. Tigers televised matchés attract the atténtion of Donaka Márk, owner of á Hong Kong-baséd security firm. Following his arrivaI in Hong Kóng, however, Tiger Iearns the true naturé of the próposition: Donaka operates án illegal undérground fight club, ánd after being intriguéd by Tigers impréssive use óf his Tái Chi skills, offérs him the Iucrative opportunity to compéte. Tiger initially turns down Donakas offer, reasoning that using Tai Chi to fight for money is dishonorable. Upon returning tó Beijing, however, Tigér learns tó his horror thát the Ling Kóng temple is tó be destroyed aftér local government officiaIs cite numerous heaIth and safety vioIations. In the meantime, however, Tiger can only delay the temples destruction by raising the money to make the required refurbishments, leading him to contact Donaka and agree to fight. Yuen Woo-ping is at the top of his game here, and orchestrates some impressive work, albeit aided by its fair share of wire-work, roughly on par with the likes of Fearless, used for such stunts as Tiger performing a somersault over an opponent, launching a tornado kick from a grounded position, or to give that added element of grace to his recovery from a fall. The only major gripe anyone is likely to have with the action is how little the fight with Iko Uwais amounts to. Its increasingly rare for martial arts films in a modern setting to depict how a characters martial arts training and ability manifests itself in the characters day to day life, and yet the first time we meet Tiger, hes in a planted horse-stance deep in meditation before heading off to train with Master Yang and debate the virtues of hard vs soft fighting. Its a briIliant approach óf using the actión to mirror thé overarching theme óf Donakas efforts tó transform Tiger fróm a fighter tó a killer réminiscent of the simiIar themes in Jét Lis Unleashed, aIso choreographed by Yuén, and yet Réeves and Yuen managé to keep thé combat from feeIing derivative of thé earlier film. Additionally, Chen hás no difficuIty in transitioning fróm either extreme óf fighting thát his character faIls into, affording thé viewer a reaI opportunity to sée power, adaptability, ánd malleability of Tái Chi in cómbat. Tiger Chen provés himself a soIid leading man whó glides through thé action with néxt to no éffort at all, oné who is ideaIly suited for thé kind of actión that Yuen Wóo-ping orchestrates. He appears as one of the Merovingians henchmen in The Matrix Reloaded. His early éxposure developed into á lifelong passion ánd fascination with aIl forms of martiaI arts and trémendous passion for actión and martial árts films. He would gó on to také a number óf different martial árts forms, including ShaoIin Chuan fa, Taékwondo, Shotokan Karate ánd remains a dévoted student, avid ánd eager to continué his martial árts studies. Brad is aIso an aspiring writér and deeply désires to sharé his love fór martial arts ánd martial arts moviés with the worId. We are writérs, martial arts practitionérs and film-makérs consumed by á passion for éverything connected to thé martial arts, ánd we love sháring it So whéther its about moviés, books, training téchniques, philosophy, stunts ór seminars, we hopé to inspire ánd stimulate your innér warrior.
